Methane Barriers

Use

Preformed cavity barriers for installation in new-build properties at ground floor level. Designed to prevent methane gas concentrations accumulating.

Introduction

Methane barriers are supplied in long lengths with accompanying corners, angles etc. The barriers are incorporated within the cavity wall at ground level. They rise within the cavity and project through the inside skin and across the oversite. Oversite membranes are also available which seal to the perimeter cavity mouldings. Thus, a methane barrier is created across the property floors and walls, and methane gas is prevented from accumulating within the structure. Any methane gas which rises is forced to discharge via perimeter airbricks which promote emission into the open air and away from the building.
